Apparently a third 'Ace Ventura' is currently in the works and the only way I can describe my excitement is by yelling "Like a glove!" (If you've watched the second Ace Ventura youunderstand) at the top of a mountain. According to ScreenRant, the writers who penned the film 'Sonic The Hedgehog' are set to write Ace's next case. The first of the franchise was 'Ace Ventura; Pet Detective' released in 1994 and followed Ace on the hunt to find a beloved dolphin mascot that was kidnapped from the Miami Dolphins football team. The film proved to be a success making around 107 million at the box office that naturally lead to a sequel in 1995 called 'Ace Ventura; When Nature Calls' which nearly doubled its predecessor at the box office raking in about 212 million. After being so successful at the box office I can't figure out why the franchise didn't continue on as it was arguably two of the best comedies ever made and helped launch Jim Carrey's career as a comedic powerhouse in Hollywood.

Lets talk about the 1990s for moment as the time period is what I'd like to call the golden age of comedy because we got see 'Dumb and Dumber,' both Ace Venturas, 'Billy Madison', 'The Water Boy' 'Tommy Boy,' and many other films alike released during this decade that still hold up to this day whenever needing a laugh no matter how many times you've watched them, placing these films in the argument for best comedies ever made. Ace Ventura produced some of the most memorable comedic quotes such as "If I'm not back in 5 minutes, just wait longer," "Lahoo-se-her,""Alllrighty Then!,""Bumble Tuna," and "I would NOT go in there!" which If I'm being honest I still use those quotes to this day in hopes someone nearby is as big as an Ace Ventura fan as I am.

I'm just as excited as I am nervous about rebooting the franchise as there isn't many details released on the project just yet besides it being in development at Amazon and being written by the 'Sonic The Hedgehog' writers. Although there is some comforting information to add which is that Morgan Creek, the production company behind the first two films appears to be involved the new addition to the franchise. I am wondering though if Jim Carrey will be reprising the role as my brain locks up when trying to think of who else could play the character, in fact it might just be that I don't want to think of any else playing the character because I firmly believe that no-one could have performed the role of Ace Ventura at the comedic and goofy level as Jim Carrey did. I'm hopeful that if the news is true that Jim Carrey will be reprising the role unless the writers are thinking of doing a prequel in which I'd be interested in that to some level but that will be an immense amount of pressure for the actor who will be introducing the character that would become one of the most comedic performances in film history.

Are you excited at the possibility of another Ace Ventura?
