Fresh off the press for his new film 'The Marksman' Liam Neeson has disclosed that he has been approached for a potential reboot of the famed comedic franchise 'Naked Gun', which was popular throughout the 80's. He mentioned Seth Macfarlane and Paramount were the ones who were involved the possible reboot but he himself didn't sound so sure about it saying "It will either end my career or bring it in another direction." Liam Neeson is now 68 years old has been planning on hanging up his action roles after his latest film so I'd have have to say I feel about the same as rebooting such a famed and loved franchise is going to take a lot of work and commitment and if his mindset on the project isn't all in then it will certainly show on the screen and become another sad effort to bring a retired franchise back that we should have left where it rest.
That being said I believe Seth Macfarlane is the right mindset to be backing such a project but I think there may be a better candidates then Liam Neeson at the moment who seems to be to drawing the curtain on his career nearly after every film it seems. It may be Seth's and Liam's chemistry that was maybe formed during the making of 'A Million Ways to Die in the West' that originally drew Seth towards Liam for the idea but there's plenty of other fish in the sea if Liam isn't up for it so Seth don't give up, I have faith you will make the right decision and will be very excited to see your sense of humor put in the bumbling hair brained detective Frank Drebin for another go around.
